Where the money comes from, in plain numbers.
We earn a small Amazon commission on gear links. It costs you nothing, it never decides what gets listed, and here are the rules we hold ourselves to. "May contain affiliate links" in grey 8-point type helps nobody.
How it works
Product links on the gear pages (and occasionally in guides) point to Amazon and carry our associate tag. If you buy something after clicking one (even a different product, even on a promotion), Amazon pays us a small commission. The price you pay is identical either way. The commission comes out of Amazon's side, not yours.
Our rules
- Everything listed is carried in our own van, or is the exact model we'd buy new where ours was bought second-hand (the bike rack, for instance; the page says so).
- Nothing is listed because of its commission rate. Several items here cost under a fiver and earn pennies.
- No manufacturer has paid for placement, sent free products in exchange for coverage, or seen a word of this site before publication.
- Prices shown were correct when listed and are refreshed periodically, but Amazon changes prices constantly: the live price on Amazon is the real one.
- Product links are marked
